During my time working as a Graphic Designer for the Rockford Park District, I was tasked with developing a logo and brand identity for Nicholas Conservatory and Garden's new exhibit, Sinnissippi Station, a garden train display. This new exhibit featured a variety of working model trains and trolleys that meandered through miniature Rockford landmarks, such as the Symbol, a glowing Conservatory, and the Jefferson Street Bridge.
The biggest challenge of this project was finding a way to mix the natural feeling of the Conservatory with the industrial look of trains. I chose to do this by incorporating Nicholas Conservatory's signature green (used throughout their normal branding) into an otherwise bold, badge-style logo.
