The following works were created during my time with the Rockford University Marketing Department, to celebrate RU's 170th anniversary. This project started when I was tasked to design a banner that would be installed behind the Burpee Center welcome desk. Obviously, the biggest challenge was to create a piece that strictly followed the University's brand standards, while also creating something that hasn’t been done a thousand times before. Another big challenge was balancing the typography, photo, and the decus logo you see in the background.
This piece was made to stand on its own, but some of the other drafts for this assignment ended up inspiring an entire campaign for the 170th anniversary. Again, this logo had to follow brand standards, but I enjoyed working in a formal way for the Charter Day postcard, and a slightly more fun way for the Employee Recognition dinner card. All the while, I had to continue the brand fonts and colors through every piece. The logo was even used at Rockford University's annual Gala, as it was printed on tshirts and given to each of the attendees.
